Good bye to an institution [link from There has been some recent talk about the Tribune closing down Chicago's City News Bureau, which is a great loss for Chicago. This 100-year-old institution has long been seen as a training ground for journalists and a foundation of news gathering in the city. It is a key information source, and some critics are charging the Tribune with shirking its civic responsibility of news gathering.
