Self-destructing USB Drive

crypto.JPGRedCannon's DiskOnKey USB Flash Drive uses 256-bit AES encryption to lock down your files in case they fall in to the right hands, which is great. But for the truly paranoid among you, the DiskOnKey is will turn self-destructive after too many failed login attempts by borrowing money from an ex-girlfriend and going on a three day bender of drinking and drugs, getting fired from its job and evicted in the process. Or it completely wipes all files saved on the drive. One of those.

Modix HD-3510 Media Player

modix.jpgThe Modix HD-3510 media player converts any external hard drive you might have lying around (up to 2 TB) into a portable media library. Essentially just a tricked out USB hard drive case, the HD-3510 packs a dedicated chipset that supports nearly all video formats in addition to Mp3, WMA, and OGG audio. Connections on the back allow for hook up to the TV, monitor, or stereo of your choice, with a maybe-too-small display and button set up for file management built in to the front. The USB-only input doesn't exactly thrill, but at $240 for simple and portable media library manager, I might be willing to sit through the long, dark transfer time of the soul.
