My computer has had a virus, so it's been out of commission until today. The work on the kitchen slowly grinds along. The cabinets went in yesterday and the cabinet maker is here today adding the handles, etc. Tomorrow the painter comes to add the final coats of paint to most of the walls (except the fireplace wall -- they need to do the tiling on that wall first and that won't happen until next week). The fireplace itself is in and is giving off some lovely heat.
I desperately hoped I could cook and wash dishes in the kitchen this week-end but the electrician and plumber can't come until early next week. I'm starting to go a bit snakey. I'm tired of living in a state of chaos and of having a construction crew in my house all the time. I miss being able to have friends over for a meal. I know the end is in sight for the kitchen and dining room, but then we move on to the bathrooms, and that is not going to be much fun. I'll post new photos later tonight after the crew has gone home.
