Which Fortune Should I Choose? I have a cold, and my way of dealing with unwelcomed viruses is to go buy a family sized order of hot and sour soup from the Golden Dragon. As always, they included a fortune cookie in my bag, so when I got back to work I cracked it open. There were seven fortunes inside! They ranged from 'Your talents will be recognized and suitably rewarded' to 'You will soon be crossing the great waters'. One fortune tells me to find release from my cares and have a good time, while another tells me that idleness is the holiday of fools. After reading them all, I felt downright schizophrenic. Another Taxi Driver in the Family Alan got his driver's license today, on the eve of his 18th birthday. Iris and Jamie are rubbing their hands with glee - another person to drive them places. I don't think he knows what he's gotten himself in to. 8:46:06 PM    comment [] The glorious weather continues! The snow is all but gone and the buds on the trees are thinking it might be time to emerge. The down side is that the mosquitoes have also emerged....the big slow grandaddy ones, but lots of them. They seemed particularly interested in hanging around the barbeque last night when I was trying to cook dinner. Alan has discovered an audio mixing program on the internet that is proving to be tonnes of fun. I'd been looking for something for him for a while - I wanted Garage Band but it's only available in Mac format (I swear my next computer will be a Mac - I've become increasingly frustrated with the viruses associated with my PC) and I couldn't find anything for PC that I was happy with. This program that Alan found is call AudaCity (or maybe audacity?) and it's available for free. You can record multiple tracks, add effects, edit, etc. Our family recording sessions have been a riot.
