Time to Move On Tonight is Longest Night, which in our house usually means having a bit of a celebration that involves going for a walk in the woods with candle-lit lanterns. However this year I didn't get my act together enough to arrange it. When I mentioned to the kids that we wouldn't be doing it this year, they all breathed a sigh of relief and Alan said, "Thank God." I guess it's time to let that tradition go and move on.
So instead of doing that, I took Jamie Christmas shopping. There's a good lesson to be learned watching your 12 year old shop. With a bit of pocket change and a quick trip to one store, he's all set. Fifteen minutes and we were done. None of this agonizing for hours trying to find the perfect gift. It IS perfect, because it's from Jamie. Thanks kiddo.
Remnants of Nutcracker The photos are starting to come in from Nutcracker. Here's one that was in the local newspaper.
