Thanksgiving 2006 I am up early for a holiday Monday to put things in motion for our Thanksgiving feast today. Not that we need one....I'm still full from the huge Thanksgiving meal we had last night at Gord and Angela's house. It was fabulous. My horn of plenty runneth over!
Speaking of which, it seems an appropriate time to make note of some of the many things I am lucky enough to have and am so thankful for. Here's a partial list, in no particular order:
- I live in a country that's not torn apart by war or natural disasters and that takes my breath away with its beauty
- I'm married to a man who doesn't beat the crap out of me, who doesn't have a substance abuse problem and who loves me
- I am healthy, as are the members of my immediate family
- I have three children who have, in large measure and for better or worse, made me who I am today
- I was born and am still alive
- I have dear friends from one end of this country to the other who are always close to me, no matter what the geographic distance
- I have food in the cupboards and a warm roof over my head
- Music and dance are an almost daily part of my life
- I love and am loved
- I have a job that I enjoy and that gives me the financial means to do most of what I want to do
- I have a pressure cooker!!
