Plant Shortage Leaves Campaigns Against Malaria at Risk
This mornings headlines and medical news articles brings yet another intriguing look into the global politics of drugs and drug companies, agriculture, price manipulating, price gouging, and the WHO (World Health Organization.) The article raises some interesting thoughts... could American farmers be persuaded to grow this valuable crop? Perhaps it could replace tobacco. Could the western drug giants be persuaded to manufacture this drug, which is derived from an herb and not a test tube? It would be most unusual for the Big Drug Companies to produce and market a treatment that is based upon herbs and traditional Chinese Medicine, but maybe if there were enough profit in it for them...
