Early this morning I was talking to a friend in Germany over Skype when I looked out of my window and suddenly noticed a huge Skype billboard on a building about 500 meters from my apartment. Skype recently started a cooperation with Chinese internet portal Tom.com, and now they seem to start an advertising campaign. Not only outside billboards: Catherine just told me that there are Skype ads all over the Shanghai subway trains and stations. So who is paying for that? Skype is still free, except for phone calls to normal phones. BTW, my Skype name is mcvanderchijs, please feel free to add me.
