Shanghaied Weblog
Weblog from Marc van der Chijs, a Dutch entrepreneur living in Shanghai. A mix of serious and fun stories about China from the Chinese and international press, and some personal experiences from life in China.

Indonesia has accused China that it is delivering food that has passed the expiry date to aid tsunami victims in Aceh. China refuted the claim and said that it only sent non-expired food. As a proof they showed some samples with expiry dates of December 2004. Next to the fact that I personally feel that just expired food is better than no food aid, there might be a big misunderstanding here. Chinese products sold in China normally do not show an expiry date but only a production date. I have not seen the pictures, but I would not be surprised to see that the products shown by the Indonesians show a production date instead of an expiry date.
