But a November visit to a Commerce Township family's condominium appears to have made little difference: The condo association is suing the family because of the noisy and unruly behavior of four children that it claims continued well after the Supernanny came and went.

Q. We are a new homeowners association board that has just taken over from the developer, and we want to make sure we are compliant with the covenants and rules by our homeowners. We have heard of communities that have taken over from developers that have not gotten organized and educated quickly enough, resulting in many violations being permitted by neglect. We do not have a management company. Please give us some advice on how to avoid this.

Johnston's is one of 11 condominiums facing Liberty Station Park, a city recreation area built by Liberty Station's developer, Corky McMillin Cos. Homeowners such as Johnston paid a premium to face the bay, but say they weren't told about the basketball court when they bought their homes.
