Jef Raskin has passed away
Jef Raskin, GUI pioneer, interface expert, Apple employee #31, and the man most credited with the creation of the Apple Macintosh, died of cancer on Saturday February 26, 2005. It was Raskin who named it after his favorite fruit, the McIntosh apple, although he said that he changed the spelling to "Macintosh" to avoid potential copyright conflicts with McIntosh, the audio equipment manufacturer."
Although a highly controversial figure in the history of the Macintosh, Jef was without a doubt, a highly intelligent individual who's ideas had an influence in many of the computer concepts that we use every single day. Rest in Peace Jef.

- The Second Life Continues

The second life experiment continues. In trying to get my head around the what all is possible in-world, the more I learn, the more the potential of this place appeals to me. I've been reading a lot of articles on SL and came across a real gem from the Austin 360 paper called Welcome To Your Second Life. It's a multi-page article that touches on several distinct concepts in SL - the article even includes videos, which for the beginner is quite useful.
