A picture named images.jpg

Following up on the June 24th post from his blog, Wil Shipley today provided some additional materials from the talk that he gave to students at the recent WWDC.

Included in today's update are revised slides in addition to a podcast from the event. I've only just recently discovered Wil's blog but have enjoyed much of what he's had to say. If you are at all interested in seeing how quality Macintosh software is made from the eyes of someone who has done it successfully more than one - give Wil a read.

A picture named 3D-SpaceVFS.jpg

A fun little bit of code on a Friday afternoon. 3D views of your file system is nothing that is particularly new, dating back to work done by Sun Microsystems and Silicon Graphics boxes. 3D Space VFS is the most recent application in this space for the Mac OS. I can't imagine using it for anything day to day, however it could be a useful to do point it a folder containing a website and sitting down with a client to go over the sites architecture.

3D-Space VFS combines Launcher, Dock and Finder features with elegant 3D drawers to give you easy point-and-click access to all of your favorite files and applications, without having to sift through folders.
  • Easy visual launcher / dock.
  • Finder-like features and navigation.
  • Instant access to hundreds of your favorite items in glorious, spacious 3D drawers!
  • Fast OpenGL graphics for a fluid user experience.
