A picture named images.jpg

A nice little surprise this morning, Steve Jobs appeared on the ABC news Shuffle show with Jake Tapper. The full text of the article appears here and they've also provided a full RSS feed as well as a direct link to the mp3 file.

Here's a bit from the interview:

JT: So here's a quick question. There are gonna be 3,000 free audio programs available, making it one of the largest podcast directories in the world. Why are they gonna be free?

SJ: Well, you know, podcasting— has been free since the beginning. It's been an emerging phenomenon that— has been, you know, growing very rapidly. But we're hoping to take it mainstream with— the latest version of iTunes, which has everything you need to podcast built right in it. So— podcasts I think they're gonna remain free. Although I do think we may— start to see some advertising tagged onto them— you know, in the coming months.

So while it's easy to produce content for a podcast with GarageBand and microphone, approaching your recording like broadcast professionals will aide in creating a show that people will be eager to listen to, again and again.

Planning topics to discuss, possible guest interviews, and your show's length in advance, will go a long way to producing a professional sounding podcast.
