Thanks to Julie over at Sexy Magick for allowing me to customize my
blogs look and feel a bit better. Notice, to your left, a column
with some links that I visit frequently.

A good source has
informed me that I am a hero, of sorts. I never thought of myself
as that, just someone trying to share an appreciation for good
music.
Here's hoping that the goods help my good source make it through the weekend with the in-laws in town.

So, I was skimming my various RSS feeds late last night in FeedDemon,
my aggregator of choice for the PC. I came across this little gem
on Rob Carlson's blog, Epistolary:
Jason J. Thomas. This is the weblog of Jason J. Thomas. ... [Epistolary]
I immediately thought to myself: "Cool. I was linked by
someone." That is the cool part about the blogosphere, getting
linked by someone and ultimately being a part of this community.
I feel warm and fuzzy.

During a fit of late night geekiness, I decided to get things working
to allow me to use Radio Userland to make posts on my blog while I am
at the office.
In my research via Google, I had a few options available to me:
1.) Turn on the mail-to-weblog function within Radio;
2.) Install a third-party tool that functions much like the option above;
3.) Find a free dynamic DNS provider to provide my connection with DNS name and open up the ports I need on my Linksys router.
I decided to go with the third option and open up the ports I would
need to remotely access my workstation. Options 1 and 2 seemed
easy, as I would be able to mail on items such as news and other
interesting things. However, further research showed that I would
have to become familiar with some commands to make things like a title
and category posting work. At this time, I just wanted to do some
light posting when the need struck me and at the same time allow me to
work on some very simple design changes.
Now, I can do this remotely and not spend my precious night-time being
geeky. Besides, that geekiness interfered with my ability to
occasionally consume Guinness--which always won out.
