As the evening begins to approach Christmas Day, I like many other people have begun to undertake a retrospective on the last year.

I must admit that I have been somewhat remiss in filling out the biographical section of my blog.  I am getting around to it at some point.  Nonetheless, I must admit that this year is certainly ending on a much different note than it began.  As 2004 began, I was enjoying the continuation of a good relationship with my girlfriend.  and undertaking a modest effort at a job search.  At the middle of the year, things fell apart.  The relationship ended rather unexpectedly, and I began a the three month whirlwind search for a new residence.

I eventually found a place for myself in August, and I proceeded to move out the meager things I had at my girlfriend's place, leaving behind the feelings I had for her and our dog (as she could not go with me, and I could not see her regularly in my temporary circumstances of the summer).  With things settled, the last part of this year saw me resuscitating my job search and getting those things that I needed for my apartment.

That said, what does this really long post have to say?  Well, the last year has been quite tumultuous for me.  Given that, the next year should be better.  In the last week of the year, I will be making some resolutions for 2005.  The bottom line here, though, is not me complaining about the year I had.  Instead, I am of the mind that since this year was ultimately crappy, the next year is going to be a better one.

I am off to bed.  Merry Christmas to everyone, and see some of you following the holiday.
