Reviews from "Get Your Paws on a Good Book" reading program

Oathblood by Mercedes Lackey: Take this book and read about all the wonderful characters.

The Girl in the Box by Ouida Sebestyen: It's about a high school girl who gets kidnapped, and the book is written in letters that she writes with the typewriter she had with her when she was kidnapped.

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult: I liked some of her other books better. This one was a little hard to get into, but once I did, I couldn't stop. Very emotional.

The Game of Kings by Dorothy Dunnett: One of the best books I've ever read! Set in historical Scotland when Mary Queen of Scots is 4 years old. Francis Crawford of Lymond, as the fictional rogue/hero, is willing to give his life to protect her and is so well written he seems every bit as real as the authentic entourage surrounding little Mary. Readers interested in languages will find line in Spanish, French, and Old English, as each chapter starts with stanzas ala Chaucer regarding chess moves. Those into SCA or historical reinactments will love references to acutal battles and medieval weapons.
