Book Reviews from 'Get Your Paws on a Good Book' participants
The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook by Josh Piven and David Broganicht: Interesting and informing book with tips on surviving situations from the extremely unlikely to a few most people will find themselves in at some point. Interestingly, all the extremely unlikely scenarios have happened to people, all of whom probably suspected, as you and I, that this couldn't possibly happen to them.
The Good Times by Russell Baker: Memoirs of Russell Baker, long time columist for the New York Times. Tells the story of his rise from a poor young paperboy to the Pulitzer Prize winning columnist he has become. A very interesting story with insight into behind-the-scenes accounts of working people at the #1 paper in the country.
An Unmmourned Death by Audrey Peterson: Enjoyable light reading. Of course, I liked it because a single woman comes to be the 'smart' one in the story. In 1885 England, no less!!
Somebody's Gotta Be On Top by Mary B. Morrison: Very good book. It was a page turner that kept my attention. This is a very passionate story that held me to the very end. If I have any complaints about this book, I would have to say the very sad end. It did get quite confusing, especially the last page. Overall, good read.
