Book reviews from 'Get your paws on a good book' participants

No Place Like Home by Mary Higgins Clark: Again, another great author. This story was terrific, lots of interest for me. Couldn't wait to listen each day.

Ava's Man by Rick Bragg: Nonfiction story wirtten about Rick Bragg's grandfather who died a year before he was born. For someone who didn't know his grandfather and received his information from relatives, he did a fantastic job at making the man 'come alive' by his strengths and weaknesses . The story takes place before the depression and through 1994. Ava's man Charlie loves her and their children and grandchildren. He teaches them how to survive. The story reminds be some of John Steinbeck's 'Grapes of Wrath'.

Impossible by Danielle Steel: How can you go wrong with Danielle Steel? This story is one that alot of us older gals can relate to. But I really did not want her to go back with him. Loved it!

Jess by Mary Casanova: I read this book to my daughter. It centers on an American Girl whose parents are both archeologists who work part time each year in Belize on Mayan ruins. While the story is fiction, at the back of the book it details the life of a real American family that is very similar, including web sites of Belize ruins, animals and even the ongoing dig. Very Good!
