Just got back from our welcome drink. Complete success. Good food, drink and company. I met Werner, who is here from Cornell, turns out he's dutch! If you're in to 'all things distributed', then his blog is a must read. Early to rise tomorrow for the start of BloggerCon, and I'll be lugging my 17-incher along for updates.

Just had a very entertaining lunch at the hotel with Halley, Doc, AKMA, Ed and Rageboy. Fascinating to meet people I already know through their writing. So many different opinions and views, yet all with a common bond. We use weblogs as a tool.

Coming from Amsterdam, there's one thing I forgot to bring: a power adapter for my plugs. There's something else I couldn't bring, but I'm hopeful someone will be able to help me with that :)

I slept for 12 hours last night, and ofcourse totally missed my window to call back home for the morning show, they'll survive I'm sure. Spoke to Dave this morning, it was good to hear his voice after months of email and blog only communication.
The hotel here is excellent, wifi in the lobby and wired T1 in every room, I was also pleasantly surprised to see that GSM works as advertised as well. I turned on my cellphone and everything just worked.
I'm hoping to hook up with Chris Lydon before the get-together tonite, but haven't heard from him yet. I have been enjoying the latest set of interviews that automagically appeared on my desktop this morning in mp3 format thanks to the rss enclosure feed. Desktop PBS baby!
Gonna call home and then I'm off for a walk in the beautiful crisp sunny surroundings.
