> Don Park: I am happy to see that HP board finally came to their senses and booted Carly.  Every decisions she made seemed wrong to me, driving forward recklessly and leaving the company unprepared for what was to come.  She wasn't happy driving a good old farm tractor so she smashed it against a rundown city bus and tried to drive what came of the mess like a K-mart sponsored race car.

> Jonathan Schwartz: Who would've thought the world would come to this? Funny. My view, it's not a blogger that makes a blog effective. It's authenticity. Everything else is just along for the ride.

> Douglas Bowman: After more than a year of implementing my own measures, I think it's time to help raise awareness of email security. And in doing so, document the way I use SSH to read and send email securely on Mac OS X. If you're concerned about strangers having open access to your usernames and passwords, and all the email you send and receive while connected to a public wireless network -- whether you use a Mac or not -- you'll want to read this.

> Bret Taylor: We think maps can be useful and fun, so we've designed Google Maps to simplify how to get from point A to point B. Say you're looking for "hotels near LAX." With Google Maps you'll see nearby hotels plotted right on a crisp new map (we use new rendering methods to make them easier to read). Click and drag the map to view the adjacent area dynamically - there's no wait for a new image to download. Or get step-by-step directions to where you're headed. If a particular intersection on the route looks tricky, click on that step in the directions to see a magnified view. Play with the keyboard shortcuts (arrow keys to pan or the +/- keys to zoom in and out ) too. The tour shows you even more. Happy trails.

> Scott Shuda: While I've been working in the technology space for the past 10 years or so, I am not myself a technology whiz and I hope no one has ever confused me as someone who can actually explain how UserLand's products work.  Instead, I focus on the company built up around the technology looking for ways to maximize the business potential. Like millions of other "newbies", blogs represent something of a challenge for me.  I am fascinated by what the tools can do, but have no inclination to look under the hood and try to figure out what is happening inside the product to make what I am doing now possible.  Instead, I find myself on a journey that from time to time leads me to unexpected insights on the how and the why of Manila and Radio...
