[Thanks, again Al. (Jumpgate's got a really cool graphic.) Sam, you're the best.]

Duncan's Jotter. "Terry Elliot has some strong views on Extreme Learning. To a certain extent, the fact Terry cites Extreme Programming and provides links to some great XP resources is testamount to the power of the medium we are both using to discuss this subject. I think this is step change in the way we teach and the way we learn. " *

Extreme Programming Roadmap. "Welcome to the WikiWiki entry point for ExtremeProgramming." *

Extreme Learning. "The applicability of extreme programming to extreme learning should be differentiated from...hmmm, what shall we call it?... Extreme schooling. I don't think the principles of EP can crossover into schools." *

Concurrent Versions Librarian. "CVL is a graphical user interface to CVS (Concurrent Versioning System) most often used commands." *

Dewayne Mikkelson's Radio Weblog. "I've answered the question How did you become interested in Japan? so many times that it's a shock to discover I've been giving the wrong answer all these years. I became interested in Zen Buddhism, I would explain, and I saw Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, and my interest grew from there.

That's not how it happened." *

A Frog in the Valley. "Communication + Technologies, le Developpement Web comme style de vie!" [Bienvenue vers l'archipel. Ce n'est pas un style de vie, il est un penchant. :~)] *

The Crap Shoot. "I sat back and looked at Gromit the TiBook. What had I changed in the last day or two that might cause my system to become flakey?" [Me? You thought it was me? The horror! How could you? (snif.) :~)] *

Radio UserLand : New feature: Automatically generated Links. "Radio will substitute a permalink to the item itself in place of the link." [Very good!]

Ranchero: Web File Types CM Plugin. "This is a Contextual Menus plugin that allows you to quickly and easily switch the creator of files. This is useful if you want to switch the creator of, for instance, a Navigator document to a BBEdit document. It runs on Mac OS 8 and 9 and OS X." [As I said, I don't know how others live without this...] *

winterspeak.com. "New Yorkers should expect a needless increase in fares along with an small license auction. They should not expect available cabs." [Tell me something I don't know.]

Cnotes: Car and Driver. "Is it the giver or receiver who designates that title?"

***Newness passing *

[When people first start using computers everything is learned "by rote". One learns magical incantations and sequences of steps and there is no deeper understanding. It's totally "Open Sesame" for a while.

Then one day, either by instruction or by natural learning tendencies, a little switch flips and there's an inkling of understanding. Suddenly the magic symbols "=sum(A2:A344)" becomes "total all the cells in the specified range" or the action "double click the thingy on the desktop" becomes "launch application x" in someone's mind. It's a great moment if you happen to witness it.]
