Drivel:  It seems everyone is jumping on Grid Computing these days.  In my opinion, it the people with access to huge professional infrastructures and the power of random internet users that be successful at deliverying on the promises of Grid Computing.  You have to be able to offer people more than just an application that runs on their computers for them to volunteer their computing resources.

Google takes on supercomputing. Google has begun an experiment that could turn its modest toolbar software into a supercomputer to tackle scientific problems such as untangling genetic codes. [CNET News.com]  5:29:12 PM   comments ()

Drivel:  An interesting thing has happened to me.  I have been shut out of my Yahoo! mail account via POP3 even though their email that I posted here says that remote access will be shut off on April 24.  It happened about 10pm last night.  I wonder if other people have experienced the same thing.  I can go to Yahoo! Mail and login via the web interface.  I just can't login from my email client.  This is quite curious.  10:38:04 AM   comments ()
