Drivel:  I spent the majority of my day getting my head around grid computing, as the Globus Project defines it.  It is rather abstract and really appeals to the academic in me.  However, I see a lot of applicability for it in the enterprise solving large problems for ERP, CRM, and billing.  The problem that grid computing can solve is reporting availability.  So many of these huge enterprise software packages like SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle Applications, Baan, and Siebel produce huge, customize reports for managers and executives every night that they often have problems completing nightly report runs due to 1,001 different problems.  Enterprises could "order out" to have their reports delivered in a highly secure and reliable manner via a grid.  This also ties in very nicely to the real-time enterprise.  This is interesting stuff.  More to come later as my thinking evolves.  8:58:27 PM   comments ()

Drivel:  I just posted my instant outline.  Click on the coffee mug to the right to subscribe if you are running Radio.  This outline will be of particular interest to you if you are considering deploying Radio Community Server.  It contains four reference architectures for RCS and Radio.  Have a look.  2:25:35 PM   comments ()
