Drivel:  A little over ten years ago I broke my ankle.  The break was so bad that I was told I would never be able to run again.  The bone directly above my ankle (tibia?) looked like an uncoiled ribbon in the x-rays.  I have finally started running again.  I have run two miles every night this week -- without pain.  It has taken six months of strength training and conditioning to shed extra weight and get the musles around my ankle feeling good.  I had forgotten what runners high feels like.  I have tasted it a little bit this week.  I want more!!  11:16:18 PM   comments ()

Drivel: I have been thinking about the direction I want to take my career. The storage work I have been doing lately is fun, but it is far too location dependent. You really have to be near your hardware. Despite what John Robb may say, I am not much of a hardware hugger. It is just too much of a pain. Plus, I like solving the hard problems. By the time I get a piece of hardware, all of the hard problems have been solved. I think that it might be time to head back to the classroom to get my Masters degree in CS. Then again, who knows? If someone comes along and throws a pile of money at me again, I would probably dive at it. Perhaps this is the problem. Hmmm. Food for thought.  5:59:25 PM   comments ()

Drivel:  Only nine working days left in the project in Seattle.  I am as good as homeward bound.  Just some documentation to do and a presentation to give.  I cannot wait to get back home and begin working on projects that have been piling up for the past four months.  Then again, I have quite the drive home the second week in December.  5:37:51 PM   comments ()
