Two millionaires and a baby some software

When DaveW rolls up a new number, Adam often gets to take the first hit. I wonder if they switch roles when DaveW gets Amsterdammed? :-)

As often is the case, Adam Curry is the guinea pig for this. He's launching his Blog News Network, as both a radio show and a Radio show. There are other deals in the pipe now, but first we have to do one more release of Radio, version 8.0.7, and this little bootstrap will be complete.

At least they both share pretty freely, though, so it's not all just envy and bitterness from my corner. Those scraps that make my way are mighty fine, and sometimes just a whiff of the stuff they're doing is enough to make my head spin.

Hey, I'm talking about software and scripting and macros here. What the heck did you think I was talking about?

Pathogen or symbiote? Nah, it's a dessert topping that's also a floorwax!

I suspect both, Jim, however with the possibility of TLS (nee SSL) transport of the info to and from the RCS and Radio apps, then at least those in management who fear security breaches and industrial espionage attempts will breathe a little easier about attempts to start K-logging with these tools. At the same time, I suspect many IT managers will not want others encroaching on their turf -- "Users running their own servers! Think of the potential for damage and security problems!"

Tweaking the corporate immune system.

ARTS & FARCES internet : Radio community subversion: "Personal computers infiltrated organizations through the back door. Someone brought one in to make his or her job easier and the notion spread, like a virus. RCS is going to infiltrate organizations the same way. To paraphrase John Gilmore, workgroups are going to start to recognize IT departments as damage and route around them with tools and platforms like Radio and RCS."

Aren't we in for interesting times? One question worth thinking about in this context is whether the corporate immune system has gotten smarter after the PC experience. How will companies treat this new organism - as pathogen or symbiote?

Yesssssssss! Thanks, Macrobyte folks!

Bing! The missing piece for our workgroup to use Radio+RCS+klogs was just announced. Should be shipping in late April. Gonna have some real fun, soon....

About a month ago, Macrobyte announced the secure client software for making https calls from Frontier or Radio.

A number of people asked about a secure server to go along with it.
