Former National Security Advisor heading up Los Alamos Security? He "inadvertently" put classified terrorism documents in his jacket, pants and socks? The long view. Software that lasts 200 years is a long and very thoughtful piece by Dan Bricklin, who should know. He co-invented the spreadsheet, with Bob Frankston.

His concern is with social infrastructure software, which he believes should be built on the same assumptions that we build physical infrastructure such as roads and bridges.
