Cursed Sub?
Navy sub, transport ship collide in Oman. Sub involved in Hawaii incident, USS Greeneville, clips vessel in Oman; no injuries. [USA Today : Front Page]
I hadn't heard the story of the Greeneville grounding shortly after coming out of drydock for $2,000,000 repairs and the new captain losing his command over that incident. Now add this collision and you've got a series of very strange coincidences. Hopefully no one will lose their job this time around.

A Glove That Speaks Volumes. A teenager has turned a golf glove into a tool that can translate American Sign Language into text. Want to know more? Talk to the hand. [Wired News]
This is a really clever invention, but the coolest thing to me is that a teenager came up with the device. Once it gets developed beyond finger spelling to full ASL recognition it'll be an incredibly powerful input device.

Robot toys are tops. The annual Toy Fair in London sees Lego-made Bionicles scoop top award. [BBC News: sci/tech]
Here in the U.S. I've seen various smaller Bionicles kits and games from Lego, but I didn't realize they had remote control stuff out. Cool!
