Gonzaga hits crossroads is a great article about the GU basketball team and the University as a whole in today's edition of USA-Today.
The article also spends quite a bit of time on the impact of the recent leukemia diagnosis of Father Tony Lehmann, Gonzaga's beloved alumni chaplain and longtime fixture on the bench during basketball games. Father Tony's illness has a lot of resonance for me because of my dad's own battle with and eventual defeat at the hands of cancer. In fact now that I think about it, it's just a few days past exactly two years since my father was first diagnosed with colon cancer. While there are many valuable lessons about life to be learned in situations like these, I wish they didn't have to come at the expense of those we love.
