America's family grows; citizenship bestowed on 139. A band played, flags waved and Judge James R. Grube swore in 139 new citizens Friday morning on the steps of the Santa Cruz post office. [San Jose, CA - Topix.net]
Michele was in the band. The Blue and Red Circus Band played for the new citizens yesterday morning. It was a remarkably stirring presentation. We probably all should sit down and read the citizenship oath.
The celebration opened a 3 gig weekend for Michele (and me). The band was in Seaside this morning for the Parade of Champions. Tomorrow most of the Circus Band members will join the larger Gustine City Band for the 4th of July Celebration in Gustine. 3 days, 3 gigs, and over 300 miles of travel. I think we will rest on Monday.
