This mornings newspaper had picture of our President in his psuedo-military regalia. Now tradition is in this country is that our leaders recognize that the commander-in-chief of the military is a civilian, and doesn't wear the trappings of the armed forces.

One of our greatest military commanders made a point of this after he became President. But this nuance is lost on our current President. He jumps into uniform whenever he can, because damnit he is the commander in chief of our armed forces. And he wants you to know that.

Maybe that is what got him reelected. Oh well.

To me, he appears in uniform as a lesser man. Some one who claims greatness on efforts of others. Not really the person I would want leading the country, but a little over half the voters disagree with me. I guess he looks pretty good to them.

Uh oh, This is going to be some day.

Not the best way to start a day. It is how Yolo's day started yesterday, even though she didn't know it. She got hammered yesterday. I don't feel very good about that, even though I was doing the right thing.

Yolo is better today, she is up and eating. While she hasn't forgiven me yet, she is tolerating my existence.

Sorry Kitten, I hurt you for the best intentions. You don't need kittens and this world doesn't need more cats. That rationale doesn't help right now, but you will heal, the hurt will fade, and you will accept me again. Shasta showed me that.

So please put up with me for the next few days, I care about you and I hurt when you hurt.

After that, we can get back to our normal human and Cat relationship. I will love you and you can hold me in contempt.
