Last Friday we had a get together of old, medium, and new friends. The basic excuse was my impending birthday. But really, I hadn't seen most of these folks in years and I was looking for an excuse.
Ken and Paul were the old friends. I have known Ken forever (he is my older brother) and I met Paul at USCB in 1979, now he cameos as my dentist. The D&M folks make up the medium friends, Alan, Bill and Dellilah. I worked with them after I finished up in Santa Cruz (Dellilah is really a semi-old friend because we were at Santa Cruz at the same time, boundaries get blurred with age). Mitch, Tom, and Liz are my new friends, they are all post D&M.
Anyway it was wonderful seeing everyone again. I can count my friends on two hands and most of them were there.
