Glitch taints glitz at City Hall: "San Jose spent millions on all the latest technological gadgetry for its new City Hall, but when it came time to cut the ribbon on the building Saturday morning, it was apparent city officials had come up $125 short."

(Via News: Local News -- MercuryNews.com.)

I am not sure whether to laugh or cry here. I spend at most $19/year for domain name registration and that is on the high side. When I do a multiple year registration, the price drops to $13/year. Many people who don't need the features I do get domain names for as little as $8/year.

The City that declares itself the "Capitol of the Silicon Valley", however, seems unable to get anything better than an annual $125.

Your tax dollars at work.
