Councilwomen Chavez said this in defending a $4 billion BART extension that avoids the existing jobs in northern San Jose and misses the airport by a mile.
Let's get a clue. For $4 billion you can electrify Caltrain so it runs faster, install another track to Gilroy, increase service and add more than few riders. Also, you could complete the light rail expansion. All of which would help Santa Clara County commuters.
BART to San Jose was a bad idea from the start. After five years it hasn't gotten any better.
