One of the things I wish to build for the Python IDE is a web services framework. This means that I would like to support both XML-RPC and SOAP. There is already a decent XML-RPC package that comes with Python 2.2+ (and can ve installed separately for other versions). I'm looking for a good SOAP library that works on OSX.

I've downloaded and tried to use ZSI, but there are some problems with ZSI and OSX (the value they try to use for Inf and NaN cause an overflow when ZSI is imported). I'm exploring other implementations, but from what I'd seen, ZSI is the most complete.

Leave a comment if you have an idea.

Andy, if you're out there... I'm listening to the Midnight Oil at the Fillmore show you gave me. It rocks.

Request For Help (RFH): I attempted to use my TiBook on a MobileStar network. I connected, signed up, logged in, and tried to go to Google.

I kept getting redirected to the MobileStar login screen. Ran out of patience, closed the TiBook, grabbed my coffee and went back to work.

Now, even when at home, trying to go to 'www.google.com' causes IE to first attempt to contact a MobileStar internal IP address (I did a reverse lookup). All other sites are fine, and I can get to Google by using the address http://google.com ... but never the full www.google.com. It is incredibly weird, and disturbing.

I'm fairly sure that this is a remnant of the initial redirect that the MobileStar network does to get people to login or sign up, and just didn't get cleaned up properly. I wish I knew where to go to clean it up -- like if there was a pref file I could trash or something.

This is on a 500MHz TiBook, OS X 10.1.3 -- leave a comment if you know anything.
