Caution Greets Gibson's Jesus Film. Many executives in Hollywood say that "The Passion," Mel Gibson's movie about the crucifixion of Christ, is potentially inflammatory. By Laura M. Holson. [New York Times: Movies]

PASSION is a vivid depiction of the last 12 hours of Jesus Christ's life.

I have difficulties reading the accounts of Jesus's crucifixion in the Bible. I can't read all the way through without stopping and thinking and praying about it.

The descriptions of this movie imply that it depicts what happened - as well as can be shown. We'll just have to wait until it's relased to know more. The review from The Weekly Standard (by Michael Novak) seems to describe it very well.
