Stand up Eight is looking for anyone using a portal on their campus. I am at UBC, and we are one of the groups behind the JA-SIG UPortal. We are currently at version 2.x and it is being used by many student on campus.

I have successfully created content in Radio Userland and routed to the portal on the development version of the portal, but have not yet had the opportunity to set up our own channel for the production server.

Anyone using a portal on their campus?.

Does anyone have any experience using weblogs in an enterprise portal environment? Our campus is currently migrating to Campus Pipeline (who just announced they are being acquired by SCT) and their Luminis product. This includes, eventually, Documentum, their content management system. The chicken-and-egg challenges of adopting such an architecture will keep our IT folks busy for some time to come, but I'm interested in finding out how friendly a portal system is with technologies such as RSS and XML-RPC. I'd love to be able to indicate a category for a weblog post that routes the content to the portal system.

I'd love to hear any experiences others have had in this area.

Kluwer Academic Publishers. Yesterday, I received some very exciting news: Kluwer Academic Publishers has agreed to publish two volumes in the Studies in Writing series, comprised of presentations from the Writing 02 conference in chapter form. Our presentation will be published as "Re-Grouping of Traditional Teaching and Support Roles: Re-Inventing Course Development for the Technology Classroom " in the "Writing to learn" chapter. Members of the collaborative team are Héctor Vila, Barbara Ganley, Catherine Wright, and myself. [[alterego]]
