« Post-Surgical Thoughts »
My hand is recovering pretty well from the carpal tunnel release surgery. The cast and the stitches came off a week ago Monday. I've been wearing a splint 24 hours a day since then, which is supposed to stay on until next Monday . But I decided to go as long as possible without it stating today, to (carefully) start regaining flexibility and strength. I have a gig in just over two weeks, and I need to start practicing my instrument again.
Last night, as I was checking out the healing progress, it occurred to me that surgery is both an intentional trauma and a well-modulated insult (using "insult" in the medical sense).
« King Crimson in Boston »
Hey, I got my tickets yesterday to King Crimson in Boston at the Orpheum Theater on March 8! I'm going with my family (wife and two daughters, 12 and 15), all of whom are into the band. This should help dispel the misconception that only geeky guys listen to King Crimson. Not that I'm not a geeky guy.
Hmmm. King Crimson in Boston. Just a coincidence?
