Janis Ian on Downloading
Courageous article by Janis Ian puncturing the music industry hysteria surrounding free music downloading. Excellent stuff, must reading for anyone who cares about the future of the interent. I see it has multiple links in my news sources, but want to make sure I highlight it too.

California Coast
Whew! Just back in from a 6 day trip up & down the California Coast, from the Bay Area to San Diego and back again. Lots of driving. Lots of really beautiful country. Big Sur is really something, finally went to see the Henry Miler Library, a special place. Among other things: drove around Point Dume, Bob Dylan's neighborhood, saw La Jolla, Ocean Beach, Coronado, and Balboa Park in San Diego, stopped in San Luis Obsipo, Santa Barbara, San Simeon (not the castle, but the little beach town).
