More of the White House ignoring science. The White House, ignoring the scientific consensus, and indeed, basic common sense, is classifying hatchery bred salmon as wildlife for the purposes of deciding whether wild salmon should be protected under the endangered species act. In short, this is just another step toward the complete despoiling of West coast river habitats. [rc3.org Daily]

Big Giants Win Last Night
Went to SBC Park last night; I got a ticket offer from the rewards club for $10 tickets out in 322, terrible seats. We moved around to 308, which were great seats.
I don't recall being present for a Giants 9-run inning. It was pretty exciting, and really refreshing to see. Everybody got to hit! Right before Alfonzo's shot down the 3rd base line, I commented to Ken that I thought they were playing him off the line.
Hope they do well today, too...

Scott Rosenberg: "A president who pulled family strings to get a berth in the Texas Air National Guard, and then couldn't even show up for that cushy job, sends out a vice president who won multiple draft deferments and candidly admits he had 'other priorities' more important than fighting under U.S. colors, to attack the 'judgment' of a Democratic candidate who both fought for his country and had the guts to turn against the war when its folly became evident."
