There's also a company in Japan selling one-man helicopters. This model seems to be lighter and cheaper, although it's still pretty expensive.

The Performance Aviation Manufacturing Group is selling a flying platform--a sort of one-man inverted helicopter. They're taking orders for a kit which will cost $50,000. Too expensive for me, alas. The range is 25 miles, which would be just right for a commute to and from work.

Steven Mikulan at LA Weekly - Coffee, Tea or Handcuffs? - another homeland gestapo story that makes you want to make good use of the local lamp posts. I sent the following letter to the editor: [claire]
Steven Mikulan's "Open City" column for December 19-25, entitled "Coffee, Tea or Handcuffs" told the story of Sue Smethurst's mistreatment by America's new Gestapo. I have just a few words for the DHS goons responsible.

My silence is appreciated, eh? YOUR NAZI BLOOD IS APPRECIATED ON THE FLOOR!! And that's being nice.
