I finished playing through Knights of the Old Republic on my PC. The story was very good--perhaps Lucas should consider hiring the people at Bioware to do the writing for future Star Wars movies, since they seem to be better at it than he is.

LEARNING FROM HISTORY. I realize that many hawks appear to be vehemently opposed to learning about or from history (more about that later on Friday), but for the rest of us, David Fromkin has a very interesting column in the LA Times. Fromkin is, of course, the author of A Peace to End all Peace: The Fall of the Ottoman Empire and the Creation of the Modern Middle East, which I have excerpted before.
