About one-third of all new hires now come through employee-referral programs, and companies are still permitted to run these however they like, as long as they follow a consistent policy.
I strongly suspect that the result of this latest bit of fascism in the name of "diversity" is that the existing tendency for hiring to be done on the basis of personal recommendations will increase greatly.
