This past weekend is the first weekend in months Doug has had off since he started at NCS. He spent the entire time trying to get some rest, get life back to normal and work on a little paperwork. Well, actually a lot of paperwork. Yesterday on a lark we went to the Nixon Library for one of their free Sunday concerts, which turned out to be the USC Marching Band. Doug being Trojan, felt right at home in the sea of OC Cardinal & Gold in the Rose Garden.
The other reason we stopped by was to see the WTC wreckage which included portions of the structural steel and a fire truck. More about this later.
Also the news has reported the former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani's mother Helen Giuliani, died early Sunday in NYC. She was 92. She will be buried tomorrow. Helen Giuliani sounded one of those wonderful women of her generation.
As a quilter I have been amazed at the number of quilts being made and given to the Pentagon and the families of 9-11as gifts of love by complete strangers. More on this later.
