Bush too easy on Islam...
President Bush finds himself in a rare disagreement with conservatives in his party over his efforts to portray Islam as a peaceful religion that is not responsible for anti-American terrorism...more [Seattle Times]
This whole debate is troubling because it assumes that we do not have the same blemishes as the other side. To accuse Islam of being violent, when all we need to do is look to Northern Ireland, The Crusades, Wars of the Reformation, and others. We have killed so many over interpretation of the word, that it seems blind to say someone else is so different than us.
If given the chance what kind of government would Pat Robertson and Falwell give us? What kinds of freedoms would we lose? How many would we kill in the name of God? What would we have left when it is all over? In a country that was started out of the desire for religious freedom, this almost seems obscene...mj

Slowly the wheels of justice grind out. I am still surprised that Bush and company have so far managed to skate their way out of this mess. We currently have the most corrupt administration since Nixon, and the worst economy since 1982, so we go and give them more power!?! I am so confused...mj
