Birthday greetings...
Today I turn 44 years old. It's a perfect year, like 11, 22, 33, 55, 66, 77, 88, 99, and 111. You can only have 10 of these in your life if you are really lucky. I wonder how many I will have?
My wife gave me a card and gift last night. I sat on the couch with her and my son watching Stuart Little 2. Guess who's idea that was? It was a silly, and fun movie. It's nice to step away and enjoy a film for a few moments. It was nice just sitting there with Julie, something we have done too little of in the past few years. It's strange that you can be in a relationship; wake up one day, and realize that you've forgotten how to have that relationship.
In spite of everything that has happened in the past year, I can honestly say that this is a much better birthday then the last one. I have found a clarity of thought that has been missing for a long time. My only words of wisdom for you is take a moment; look around you, and look close at the people in your lives. They are all you have, and in the end they are all you will ever be. Our lives are the sum of all the people who's lives we have touched.
I am very lucky; because as I have seen this past year, I have many wonderful people around me. So have a very happy holiday, and remember to tell someone you love them today. Tell them from the heart, and know that they will appreciate it. It really is "A Wonderful Life."
Peace,
Michael
