Another perspective... A friend of mine (thanks Paul) sent me this link to Apostablog. A lot of links, comments, and British perspective on the war in Iraq.
Another comment on the moron De Genova - he says that "Americans who call themselves patriots are imperialist white supremacists". I think a Black American who supports the war would find that a rather strange statement. You just have to love the logic of some people, and the lack of intelligent thought they display.
Apostablog also points out that the battle portrayed in "Blackhawk Down" resulted in 18 dead and 70+ wounded Americans. The casualties on the Somali side were 500-1000 dead. Let's do a little math - at that rate, Iraq would run out of people long before we would. I don't think that was what he intended to say.
I repeat what I have said all along. TV creates unrealistic expectations, and snippets of war create an unrealistic perspective of that war. We are just past a week into a war that involves a large nation, a dug in enemy, and the fog of war, This will end with a victory on the battlefield, but the results at home remain very much at doubt...mj
