Interactive Population Pyramid

The UK National Statistics site has an interactive population pyramid. You need an SGV viewer to see it (there is a link to download one). It's fascinating to see the dips in births in the war years, the booms immediately post war, the effect of tight, itchy clothing in the 1970's, the creeping increase in life expectancy over the years, and the difference in the proportions of the sexes at different ages.

Anti-advertising to out iPod's dirty secret.
iPod's Dirty Secret is a three-minute movie made by an iPod owner to protest the fact that Apple won't replace his 18-month-old iPod's dead battery. He's engaged in a one-man guerrilla anti-advertising campaign to stencil a warning over Apple's street posters promoting iPod.

It looks like this is not an uncommon problem.

It also looks like Apple have already introduced a $99 battery replacement service, but not in Europe, and you don't get your old iPod back. Not great.

Update: John Moltz points to iPodlounge for a list of battery replacement options.
