Techlearning.com:  Web Pages to Go: Offline with Internet Explorer

"The latest version of Internet Explorer (IE) for both Windows and Macintosh computers overcomes the limitations of previous versions. IE 5 is:

  • Intuitive when it comes to saving a webpage offline
  • Capable of saving pages locally or immediately to a network folder
  • Supportive of most advanced HTML features
  • Free

" Article talks about how teachers are using Internet content more frequently in instructional lessons, and how they can prepare for the Internet access being interrupted.

Techlearning.com:   Connecting Technology and the Curriculum "Curriculum maps provide one way to clarify technology's role in the curriculum. A curriculum map outlines the grade level and time of year when technology skills (in Web page design, video editing, or presentational software, for example) will be introduced to students and shows how the expectations and skills will increase from year to year. For the occasional VOB user, uploading VOB files to Userland would be make the most sense (40M byte should be plenty for this user).  But if your find yourself sending over a megabyte a day, your 40M byte will be gone before you know it.  Unless Useland can sell you more space for a reasonable yearly price , a separate server for VOB storage probably makes the most sense.

For some of us, VOB files may be the reason to invest in a personal ftp/http/weblog server.

You can always leave your public folder of Radio where it is and link to VOB files stored on another server.  This is the only way I know to keep your present Radio community sever membership.

A VOB file would be a great place to put a brain dump.  Imagine having a long ride to and from work everyday by yourself and using that time to compose your thoughts and later publish into your public or private web space.
