Over this labor day weekend I hope to labor for myself.  Need to get Step 1 done, no change that to must get Step 1 done this weekend:

Requirements for Step 1: (I'm spending the next hour defining this and then I'm getting out the hammer and nails: it's now 7:00PM EST)

Voice Over Radio - Using Olympus DW-90

1) Menu item: Choose Audio file from Olympus directory - source directory.

2) Menu item: Copy audio file to Radio www directory - target directory - hard coded during this step

3) Menu item: Send post through Radio using XML-RPC, using the Blogger API.

4) VOR (Voice Over Radio) gif Icon The one I made last time is ugly.

5) Menu item: About

6) Write all the code to make the above menu items work.

This step supports 1 audio file link per post.

I'm trying to keep things generic enough that the tool can be used with other devices and fed from other programs.

I'll post my progress.

Can anyone at Userland develop a XML-RPC API to hook into the comment system of Radio at http://radiocomments.userland.com/?  Does it already exist?

I would like to have Voice Over talk to Radio comments directly. Simplies the process for the user.

Scripting News  As promised, here's the first draft of the RSS 0.94 spec. Hmmm...I wonder if its to late to include some audioblogging attributes.

ABMT ( Audio Blogging Management Tools).  I've got some seed ideas.  I just need to make the choice today, C# or Java.  I'm leaning toward C#.  It's got some cool .Net hooks and can do XML-RPC.

What I like to do is build an audio blogging tool to clean up the integration of my portable audio recorder with my weblog.  Out of the box it can upload wav files to my computer using USB.

Of course I want to start with Radio.

Most inportantly it has to support the the evolving audio blogging standard(s) . Here's a link http://live.curry.com/mp3/garthreply.mp3 that includes some of Adam's thought's about audio blogging standardization.

I am starting to get addicted to listening to Adam read his blog every morning.  It makes his blog much more charismatic and representative of his personality.  Of course, this is all in the weblog spirit.  If you can use audio or video to make your communication clearer and more compelling than writing alone, why not do it?   I would like to use this with essays or long format posts.  Now I have to figure out where to put the MP3s on the net so they can be downloaded.   Note:  working on this.  It sounds great. [John Robb's Radio Weblog] Great to see John Robb not only in the loop but already addicted in the early stages. Were going to need him and Dave looking over here to help get the integration pieces into Radio.

Garth is working on audioblogging tools. Already I'm seeing issues with this form of content. Drive space! [Adam Curry: Adam Curry's Weblog] Found out that Garth is in the loop.  Cool.  Heres his audio comment to one of my comments.
