"Supernova Group Blog. The Supernova group blog is up and running. Moveable Type users can send posts to it automatically using the Trackback feature; others can do so manually via a Web form. Alongside the "official" blog with live coverage of the event, the group blog provides an opportunity for those present (and those not present!) to add their commentary. I hope we can use these tools to open up the conference and make it more valuable. "

News.com talks to the father of Wi-Fi: ->

"Does Wi-Fi have a boundary?
A study group was just set up in 802.11 (standards committee) for going beyond 100 megabits. There's still some research to see how to further use the frequencies and radios. It would either need a bigger, more powerful cell (radio) or lots of little ones. We're not very keen on making a big cell, which has lots of frequency needs. We'd rather have smaller cells, which don't use as much frequency. You have to create additional frequency out of nothing, like reusing the frequency."

Now it makes sense why AGERE cames out of know where as has such an understanding of 802.11b.

Slashdot -> Advances in Decentralized Peer Networks ->

from the more-systems-slip-through-your-fingers dept.

PureFiction writes "Peer networks are gaining some attention these days given advances in much more decentralized search architectures and swarming distribution networks. Research has indicated that these decentralized networks are resistant to legal and technological attacks. The continued proliferation of broadband and wireless networking will ensure pervasive deployment of distributed peer networking infrastructure that will drive significant innovations in personal and community digital communications services."
